Financial Crime Systems Analyst

About the role

Paynovate, a fast‑growing Belgian fintech, is seeking a Financial Crime Systems Analyst to own and evolve its fraud and compliance technology stack. You will work at the crossroads of Compliance, Operations and Engineering, ensuring monitoring tools are reliable, scalable and aligned with regulatory needs.

Key responsibilities

• Administer the fraud and compliance platform (including SEON), handling configuration, integrations, access management and daily maintenance.
• Monitor tool performance, refine rules, workflows and alert quality, and produce reporting on alert volumes and processing times.
• Act as the internal technical expert, documenting systems and ensuring they remain fit for purpose.
• Analyse alert backlogs, identify root causes and implement structured reduction plans.
• Translate compliance and operational requirements into clear technical specifications for Engineering.
• Train colleagues in Compliance, Operations and Customer Support on effective tool usage.
• Coordinate with external technology providers for incidents, changes or product enhancements.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience administering fraud, AML or compliance‑monitoring platforms such as SEON.
• Proven ability to configure systems, rules and integrations beyond end‑user usage.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience handling large, complex datasets.
• Capability to investigate operational backlogs, prioritize issues and drive improvements.
• Excellent communication skills to work across Compliance, Operations and Engineering teams.
