Financial Controller / Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller/Accountant to join a globally recognised law firm in Ixelles. The role involves managing the full spectrum of finance operations, from month‑end close to statutory reporting, while supporting high‑level international projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end close, journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments and provisions.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and fixed‑asset accounting.
• Prepare VAT, statutory and regulatory filings.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial reporting.
• Identify financial risks and propose improvement opportunities.
• Assist with audits and contribute to finance‑related projects.

Required profile

• Fluent in English and French or Dutch.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in business services and/or the legal sector.
• Strong background in controlling, budgeting and accounting.
• Highly autonomous with a sense of ownership and ambition to progress to Finance Manager within 3‑5 years.
• Organised, proactive and solution‑oriented.
