Financial Auditor

About the role

The International Board of Auditors for NATO (IBAN) seeks a Financial Auditor to lead external audits of NATO bodies, assimilated entities and the NATO Security Investment Programme (NSIP). The incumbent will act as primary auditor for financial statement audits and may also support audit teams on NATO and non‑NATO projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial statement audits of NATO Reporting Entities and non‑NATO bodies as assigned.
• Conduct audits of NSIP expenditure in line with Board directives.
• Manage and review the work of audit team members.
• Participate as a team member on audits when required.
• Travel extensively across NATO member countries and work outside normal office hours as needed.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 6 years of financial statement audit experience.
• Knowledge of INTOSAI auditing standards and International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
• Proficiency with audit software and strong analytical, oral and written communication skills.
• Language proficiency: Advanced level (V) in English or French and elementary level (II) in the other.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours.
