Field Service Technician – Nuclear Equipment

About the role

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Field Service Technician to support the preparation, maintenance, testing and operation of specialised mechanical and electromechanical equipment used during nuclear power‑plant outages worldwide. The role combines hands‑on equipment work with close collaboration with engineering and project teams to deliver reliable solutions in demanding nuclear environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair on specialised equipment such as milling systems, drilling equipment, EDM machines, bolting systems and other remotely operated tools.
• Diagnose equipment issues, execute corrective actions and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Participate in commissioning, testing and qualification of newly developed equipment, supporting product and development engineers.
• Manufacture, modify and assemble mechanical and electrical components, tooling and associated systems, verifying functionality before deployment.
• Install and configure software, control units and industrial networks; troubleshoot software‑hardware interfaces.
• Operate specialised equipment on‑site during nuclear outages, following procedures, safety and customer requirements.
• Provide field feedback to engineering and manufacturing teams to drive product improvements and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Technical background in mechanical, electrical or electromechanical systems.
• Ability to work on‑site in nuclear power‑plant environments, adhering to strict safety and quality protocols.
• Willingness to travel internationally and work on rotating outage schedules.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude and capacity to collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams.
