Field Service Engineer – Customer Equipment Support

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer (Customer Engineer) at Applied Materials, you act as the direct liaison with customers, installing, maintaining, and upgrading semiconductor equipment. You will use digital analytics for troubleshooting and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on a range of systems.

Key responsibilities

• Complete quality repairs on Applied Materials equipment.
• Respond to fab issues, communicate with engineers, and join escalation conference calls.
• Ensure correct procedures and schematics are available before work.
• Perform retrofits and assist with process issues.
• Maintain full customer satisfaction and strong relationships.
• Follow all safety procedures and promote safety as a core value.

Required profile

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline.
• Practical hands‑on experience with mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Experience in the semiconductor industry is desirable.
• Ability to lead without authority and build excellent internal and external relationships.
• Out‑of‑the‑box thinking and strong problem‑solving methodology.
• Identify process gaps and propose improvements to operational efficiency.
