Fiber Designer

About the role

We are seeking a Fiber Designer with strong High‑Level Design (HLD) experience to join SII Belgium. You will shape the architecture and evolution of fiber optic networks, supporting Agile teams on large‑scale telecom projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead HLD of backbone and FTTx fiber architectures, ensuring scalability, resilience and cost‑efficiency.
• Translate business and technical requirements into HLD documents, including logical network maps, service flows and capacity plans.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define topology, failover strategies and service levels.
• Evaluate new technologies and integrate innovative design approaches.
• Maintain accurate fiber asset data using GIS and inventory tools; familiarity with QGIS and/or AutoCAD is a plus.
• Provide expert insights on deployment feasibility, quality controls and performance validation.
• Contribute to standardisation and evolution of design frameworks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecom, Electronics, ICT or Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in telecom and fiber optic design.
• Fluent in English and Dutch.
• Commitment to innovation, sustainability and continuous improvement.
• Experience with Agile working methods.
