Fabrication Supervisor – Coating & Inspection

About the role

The client seeks a senior Fabrication Supervisor to lead coating and related activities at the Smulders Fabrication Yard in Arndonk, Belgium. You will ensure technical standards are met, support suppliers, and guarantee safe, high‑quality, on‑time delivery of secondary structures such as boat landings and ladders.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee coating processes and ensure compliance with Frosio, NACE and ICORR standards.
• Supervise and inspect welding, NDT, assembly, and material logistics activities.
• Coordinate inspections, spot checks and weekend activities with the Fabrication Manager.
• Monitor progress against schedule, raise corrective actions and manage NCRs.
• Lead documentation collection, test‑on‑completion activities and As‑Built drawing preparation.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience in heavy‑duty/offshore fabrication, yards or construction sites.
• Strong technical knowledge, adaptable, and able to work both independently and in teams.
• Excellent English communication (reading, writing, speaking).
• Flexibility to adjust work schedule around inspections and site needs.
• Resides near the yard (preferred).

Required skills

• Frosio Level III certification.
• NACE Level 2‑3 certification.
• ICORR Painting Inspector Level 3.
• Additional VT/NDT qualifications (a plus).
