F5 & Palo Alto Security Engineer – Contract (Remote 50%)

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Network Security Engineer to join our team on a long‑term contract until the end of 2026. The role is based in Brussels with a hybrid work model (50% remote, minimum two days onsite). You will be responsible for securing our ABIS environment using F5 and Palo Alto technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Apply and enforce security policies across the ABIS infrastructure.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain F5 BIG‑IP modules (LTM, APM, ASM/AWAF) and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Monitor infrastructure changes, troubleshoot incidents, and resolve tickets promptly.
• Respond to security crises such as attacks, intrusions, and malware outbreaks.
• Advise on secure connectivity for external partners, intranet, and internet traffic.
• Produce clear documentation, technical reports, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and other security specialists.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with F5 BIG‑IP and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Proficiency with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, Nessus, and ELK.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP/S, SSL, and SNMP protocols.
• Ability to work autonomously, proactively, and communicate effectively in English.
• Team‑oriented, adaptable, and solution‑driven mindset.
