Experienced GL Accountant – Automation Focus

About the role

Gaming1, a leader in land‑based and online gaming, is seeking an Experienced GL Accountant with an "Automation First" mindset to join its finance team in Liège. You will be responsible for monthly and annual closings while driving the automation and AI‑enabled transformation of the accounting function.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounting for a portfolio of companies, preparing monthly and annual financial statements.
• Analyse and monitor balance sheets and profit & loss accounts.
• Prepare audit files and coordinate with external auditors.
• Oversee the Procure‑to‑Pay process, including payment workflows.
• Play a hands‑on role in optimizing the ERP system and related finance applications.
• Design and implement automated processes to reduce manual work, leveraging AI tools for reconciliations, matching and reporting.
• Assist the tax team with VAT, corporate tax and other fiscal matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a master’s degree in finance.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a large company (50+ employees).
• Strong knowledge of Belgian accounting standards (BEGAAP) and fiscal regulations.
• Excellent command of French and the ability to communicate in English.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and organise work effectively.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (complex formulas, data manipulation).
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Familiarity with automation tools and AI applications in finance.
