EU Projects Manager (European Projects)

About the role

The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) is expanding its European activities and seeks an experienced EU Projects Manager to lead the operational implementation of EU‑funded projects and support the development of new strategic initiatives in cardiovascular research.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily project activities, monitor schedules, budgets and deliverables.
• Collaborate with consortium partners, ESC bodies and external stakeholders.
• Prepare reports, deliverables, communication materials and dissemination content.
• Organise meetings, workshops, events and ensure project visibility through websites, newsletters and social media.
• Identify collaboration opportunities to maximise project impact.
• Track relevant European calls for proposals, assess strategic fit and contribute to high‑quality proposal preparation.
• Support the full project lifecycle, including contracting, reporting and coordination.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (BAC+5) in European studies, political science, public health, project management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing EU projects (H2020, Horizon Europe, EU4Health) and working in international consortia.
• Strong knowledge of EU procedures and funding mechanisms.
• Excellent written English and proficiency with digital communication tools.
• Autonomous, proactive, detail‑oriented with strong interpersonal and intercultural skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in an international environment.

Required skills

• EU project management (proposal preparation, budgeting, reporting).
• Familiarity with Horizon Europe, H2020 and EU4Health programmes.
