EU Finance and Reporting Associate

About the role

The EU Finance and Reporting Associate provides technical assistance to IOM Regional and Country Offices worldwide on the financial, budget and reporting management of EU‑funded projects, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance on EU funding matters to IOM Country and Regional Offices.
• Review budgets and financial reports for EU projects to ensure compliance.
• Monitor budget consumption of EU‑centrally funded projects and flag unusual trends.
• Maintain the EU‑funded project database with financial and contractual data.
• Support external verification/audit exercises by preparing documentation and draft responses.
• Prepare payment requests for EU‑centrally signed projects and follow up on fund collection.
• Organise and deliver training on EU regulations and financial management.
• Contribute to knowledge management and participate in internal/external meetings, including travel for monitoring missions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Commerce or related field (or high school with five years relevant experience).
• Minimum one year of experience with EU funding instruments, contractual aspects, and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of EU funding mechanisms (ECHO, DG INPA, DG NEAR, DG HOME) is an advantage.
• Proven experience in field audit activities is a plus.
• Fluency in English (written and oral).

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with computerized accounting systems.
