Educational Support Teacher – English L2 (M/F)

About the role

The European Schools are seeking an Educational Support Teacher specialised in English as a second language (L2) to work with pupils who require additional educational support. The role involves delivering differentiated instruction, monitoring progress, and collaborating with teachers and external specialists to ensure inclusive learning environments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide targeted support to pupils with learning, emotional, behavioural or physical needs using adapted teaching materials.
• Conduct detailed observations and assessments to identify support needs early.
• Develop individual or group Learning Plans in cooperation with class/subject teachers.
• Coordinate with the Support Coordinator and liaise with external experts and therapists.
• Evaluate pupil progress, maintain achievement records, and communicate updates to parents.
• Participate in meetings, trainings and collaborative planning sessions.

Required profile

• Native English speaker or C1/C2 level certification.
• University degree recognised for teaching in the primary cycle.
• Qualification and experience in educational support, inclusive or special education.
• Knowledge of a second school language (French or German) is an advantage.
• EU citizenship or a valid Belgian work permit.
