Educational Support Assistant / Nursery Assistant (Part‑time)

About the role

The European School Brussels I is seeking part‑time Educational Support Assistants and/or Nursery Assistants to support pupils with special educational needs across nursery and primary cycles. The role combines health‑care assistance, personalised pedagogical support, and collaboration with teachers and healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing and care, including assistance with mobility, toileting, feeding and medical procedures, while monitoring pupils' health and safety throughout the school day.
• Deliver personalised educational support in class, small groups or one‑to‑one, using differentiated teaching methods and assistive technologies.
• Collaborate with teachers, healthcare staff and parents to develop and implement Individual Learning Plans and care plans, and participate in monitoring meetings.

Required profile

• Interest or experience in supporting children with special educational needs.
• Ability to work with pupils in nursery and primary cycles.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with educational and health professionals.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using assistive technologies and educational tools.
• Competence in handling medical or mobility equipment safely.
