Educational Support Assistant / Nursery Assistant (Part‑time, Fixed‑term)

About the role

The European School Brussels I is looking for an Educational Support Assistant and/or Nursery Assistant to work part‑time on a fixed‑term basis. You will support pupils with special educational needs, ensuring their health, safety, inclusion and academic progress.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct physical care such as assistance with mobility, toileting, feeding and medical procedures, and monitor pupils' health throughout the school day.
• Deliver personalised educational support in class, small groups or one‑to‑one, assist in preparing Individual Learning Plans and use assistive technologies to facilitate learning.
• Collaborate with teachers, healthcare professionals and families, participate in monitoring meetings and contribute to continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Experience supporting pupils with special educational needs.
• Ability to provide personal care and follow individualised care plans.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for working with educational and health staff.

Required skills

• Use of assistive technologies and appropriate teaching tools.
• Safe handling and maintenance of medical or mobility equipment.
