Director of Business Development – Belgium & Luxembourg

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Director of Business Development to spearhead our efforts in the Belgium and Luxembourg defence markets, based in Brussels. The role is defined as Customer Sales Responsible (CSR), focusing on Saab's land, naval, and air solutions while also supporting in‑country execution projects.

Key responsibilities

• Accelerate business growth by converting prospects into orders and leading strategic development campaigns for Saab's products and services in Belgium and Luxembourg.
• Deliver order intake and gross margin in line with budget, adhering to the Saab Winning Business (WB) process.
• Lead and collaborate with product specialists, monitor the Saab CRM system, and foster strong team spirit.
• Support strategic planning by contributing to the Country Market Plan (CMP) and coordinating with other CSRs and the Country Manager.
• Assist Saab's delivery project execution in‑country.
• Build and cultivate a high‑value network within the Belgium and Luxembourg defence ecosystem, driving innovation and growth.

Required profile

• Proven experience (5‑10 years) in the Belgium and Luxembourg defence sector, either in governmental organisations, defence industry companies, or the armed forces.
• Successful track record in business development, marketing and sales with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Solid negotiation skills and familiarity with business processes and CRM tools.
• Proficiency in navigating Government‑to‑Government, Business‑to‑Government, and Business‑to‑Business processes.
• Effective project‑management experience, converting prospects into order intake.
• Technical knowledge and commercial awareness of product specifications, capable of assuming CSR responsibilities.
• Experience in international and domestic industrial relations with strong partnership‑building abilities.
