Director of Asset Management

About the role
We are looking for a senior asset performance leader to drive enterprise‑wide strategy, governance and continuous improvement for our European heavy‑industrial operations. The role combines strategic vision with hands‑on operational leadership to transform how assets are managed throughout their lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain the Group’s Strategic Asset Management Plan aligned with corporate strategy and site performance targets.
- Improve asset reliability, availability, maintainability, utilisation and overall equipment effectiveness through disciplined reliability engineering and maintenance strategies.
- Establish enterprise‑wide asset management policies, standards, lifecycle processes, decision rights and performance expectations.
- Lead the transition from reactive to proactive and predictive maintenance models.
- Implement consistent asset criticality, risk assessment and mitigation for safety‑critical, production‑critical and environmentally significant assets.
- Provide functional leadership in a matrix structure, coach site leaders and build asset‑management capability across the organisation.
- Design and deploy an asset management system based on ISO 55000 principles.
- Define and monitor KPIs, maturity assessments, assurance activities, audit outcomes and improvement plans.
- Support capital allocation decisions using lifecycle costing, risk‑based prioritisation and value‑based business cases.
- Enhance asset data quality, master data governance and digital asset management tools.
Required profile
- Significant senior leadership experience in asset management, maintenance, reliability, engineering or operations excellence within a capital‑intensive environment.
- Experience in metals processing, heavy manufacturing, chemicals, energy or utilities is strongly preferred.
- Degree in engineering, asset management, operations or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications or professional certifications are a plus.
