Digital Service Design Officer – RIAT

About the role

The RIAT Digital Service Design Officer supports the ongoing development and improvement of the Reintegration Assistance Tool (RIAT) within the EU‑funded Return and Reintegration Facility (RRF). Working under the RIAT Senior Project Manager, the officer translates user needs, operational workflows and technical considerations into clear development requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate discovery activities and gather user requirements for RIAT enhancements.
• Support intake, prioritisation and preparation of delivery processes.
• Coordinate working‑level exchanges with developers from the European Commission, EU Member States, Frontex and end‑users.
• Produce specifications and recommendations that align with digital service design principles.
• Ensure alignment with the established RIAT governance framework.

Required profile

• Experience in translating functional needs into technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of digital service design and public‑sector case processing tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multi‑national stakeholders.
