Design Engineer I – Aerospace Structures

About the role

Join Sabca’s Brussels Structural and Mechatronics Engineering office as a Design Engineer I. You will support manufacturing and customers by handling non‑conformities and contributing to the development of structural assemblies for aircraft and space launchers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage non‑conformities during production and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Design and validate integrated structural assemblies for aeronautical and space applications.
• Draft technical specifications, conduct structural integrity checks, and ensure compliance with EN9100 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Collaborate with the Production Department, combining design office tasks with machining, assembly, and inspection activities.
• Transfer knowledge to new team members and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in industrial engineering (mechanical or electromechanical preferred).
• 1–5 years of experience in an industrial environment.
• Fluent in English; French and/or Dutch are a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe.

Required skills

• Knowledge of strength of materials, structural analysis and calculations.
• Understanding of production and manufacturing methods.
• Basic knowledge of composite materials.
• Experience with CAD software, preferably CATIA V5.
• Root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action implementation.
