Data Engineer

About the role

Data Wizards is looking for a motivated Data Engineer to join its consulting team and support a telecom client in building robust data pipelines. You will work on large‑scale datasets, ensure data quality, and help turn raw data into actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines that enable the telecom client to derive insights.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to structure and process data for analytics.
• Use SQL and Python to process large datasets, focusing on performance and quality.
• Work with spatial data and apply analysis techniques to complex telecom data.
• Implement best practices for scalability and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot, optimise, and improve existing data workflows.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 1‑3 years of experience in data engineering or a related role, preferably in a consulting environment.
• Ability to manage stakeholders and communicate across technical and non‑technical teams.
• Problem‑solver with a “can‑do” attitude and a curiosity for continuous learning.
• Fluent in English; native Dutch or French is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in SQL.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience with SAS.
• Familiarity with Hive (optional).
• Knowledge of big‑data technologies and tools.
• Experience with spatial data analysis (optional).
