Data Engineer – Cloud Pipelines & QA

About the role

Gaming1, a leading international gaming operator, is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build and optimise data pipelines and data products. You will ensure data quality, reliability and scalability while working closely with the existing data engineering team to deliver maintainable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Implement capability‑focused data quality tests that enforce business rules, completeness, thresholds and referential integrity.
• Collaborate with domain Data Engineers and stakeholders, document processes in readme files and Confluence, and conduct knowledge‑transfer sessions.
• Optimise jobs, define data contracts and identify schema or pipeline improvements to reduce compute costs and enhance maintainability.
• Investigate and resolve failed loads or QA breaches promptly, coordinating fixes with relevant teams.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience building cloud data pipelines using SQL, Python/PySpark and a scheduler such as Airflow.
• Proven ability to implement idempotent or merge‑based ingestion patterns.
• Familiarity with automated data testing frameworks like Great Expectations or Soda tests.
• Strong collaborative mindset with a focus on documentation and knowledge sharing.
