Data Center Technician Intern

About the role

Join Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation team as a Data Center Technician Intern. You will help deliver the core infrastructure that powers services such as Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and Azure, gaining hands‑on experience in a world‑class datacenter environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support deployment of on‑site datacenter physical infrastructure.
• Install, replace, and troubleshoot cables and hardware components.
• Handle data‑bearing devices such as hard drives and solid‑state drives.
• Operate within a ticket‑based environment to resolve issues.
• Move equipment using pallet jacks or other assisted lifting tools.
• Assist the Datacenter Inventory and Asset Management Team with shipping, receiving, and inventory tasks.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
• Interest in supporting IT equipment or related technology.
• Studying towards a relevant technical qualification.
• Belgian citizenship or residency with eligibility to work in Belgium.
• Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background check and related security screenings.

Required skills

• Computer hardware knowledge.
• CompTIA A+ certification (preferred).
• CompTIA Server+ certification (preferred).
• CompTIA Network+ certification (preferred).
• Basic Structured Cabling knowledge (preferred).
