Data Center Technician III – Global Server Operations

About the role

Google's Hardware Operations team is looking for a Data Center Technician III to join its Global Server Operations. You will work on cutting‑edge infrastructure, installing, configuring, testing and maintaining servers and networking equipment in a state‑of‑the‑art data centre.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, test and troubleshoot server hardware and components.
• Maintain and monitor server software, including Google’s Linux clusters.
• Configure complex networking devices such as routers, switches, hubs, bridges and manage networking protocols.
• Manually move and install rack units, ensuring physical infrastructure integrity.
• Lead small project teams on larger installations and develop contingency plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands‑on experience with computer and server hardware troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Linux operating systems and networking protocols.
• Project‑management and leadership experience, with a collaborative mindset.
