Data Architect (Snowflake) – Freelance, Long‑term, Brussels

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect with deep Snowflake expertise to join a major data transformation programme for a leading organisation in Brussels. This long‑term freelance position will shape and deliver the modern data platform strategy, enabling enterprise‑wide analytics, reporting, AI and data‑driven decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Design and define scalable, secure, high‑performing data architectures built on Snowflake.
• Lead the implementation of cloud‑based data platforms and data‑warehousing solutions.
• Define data models, integration patterns and architectural standards across the organisation.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, Data Engineers, Solution Architects and Product Owners to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Establish best practices for data governance, data quality, security and metadata management.
• Drive adoption of modern data‑architecture principles and cloud‑native technologies.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure alignment between data strategy, business objectives and enterprise‑architecture frameworks.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data Architect in large‑scale enterprise environments.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Snowflake architecture and implementation.
• Extensive background designing modern data warehouse, lakehouse and cloud data platform solutions.
• Deep understanding of data governance, security, privacy and compliance.
• Experience defining target‑state architectures, technology roadmaps and migration strategies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
