About the role

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect with deep expertise in Databricks to join a major data transformation programme for a leading organisation in Brussels. This long‑term freelance role will focus on designing and delivering a modern, scalable data architecture that supports advanced analytics, AI initiatives, and enterprise‑wide data‑driven decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Design and define scalable, modern data architectures using Databricks.
• Lead the implementation of cloud‑based data platforms and lakehouse solutions.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Business Stakeholders, Product Owners, and Enterprise Architects to translate business needs into technical designs.
• Establish data modelling standards, integration patterns, and architectural best practices.
• Implement data governance, security, and data quality frameworks across the ecosystem.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Drive architectural decisions ensuring alignment with enterprise technology strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data Architect in large‑scale enterprise environments.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Databricks and modern data platform architectures.
• Extensive background designing data lakes, lakehouses, and cloud‑native data solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
