Cybersecurity Product Engineering Team Leader

About the role

Thales is looking for a Cybersecurity Product Engineering Team Leader to drive security across its product portfolio in Tubize, Belgium. You will manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team, ensuring security is embedded from concept to delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and mentor the engineering team, conducting regular check‑ins and ensuring optimal capacity for business growth.
• Define, implement and validate hardware and software security measures throughout the product lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with Thales engineering standards and cybersecurity best practices, including threat modeling and cryptography.
• Maintain cybersecurity governance, audit readiness and alignment with internal processes.
• Collaborate with hardware and software disciplines to integrate security seamlessly into product development.
• Communicate transparently with stakeholders to align on shared goals and risk mitigation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related STEM field with 8+ years experience, or Master’s with 6+ years.
• Proven leadership of engineering teams in complex cybersecurity, critical systems or defence programmes.
• Hands‑on expertise in threat modeling, hardware/software security and cryptography, including post‑quantum algorithms.
• Collaborative mindset with a track record of fostering cross‑disciplinary growth and psychological safety.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
