Cybersecurity Manager – ISMS & NIS2 Implementation (Public Sector)

About the role

You will support public‑sector organisations in designing, implementing and operating Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) that meet ISO 27001 and NIS2 requirements. The role combines advisory work, policy development and hands‑on guidance to embed security governance across complex organisational structures.

Key responsibilities

• Design and roll‑out ISMS frameworks, including security policies, risk‑management procedures, Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Business Continuity Management (BCM) plans.
• Conduct NIS2 gap assessments, develop compliance road‑maps and steer implementation with senior management and oversight bodies.
• Collaborate with business units to translate regulatory obligations into practical, auditable controls.
• Coach junior colleagues and share sector‑specific insights to strengthen the team’s advisory capabilities.
• Build trusted relationships with operational and executive stakeholders in the public sector.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) and at least 3 years of experience in information security, GRC or risk management.
• Hands‑on experience implementing or auditing ISMS environments, preferably for public‑sector organisations.
• Familiarity with NIS2 and its transposition into Belgian or EU public‑sector obligations.
• Ability to draft, validate and gain adoption of security policies and procedures in complex organisations.
• Fluent English; Dutch is a strong plus.
