Cyber Security Engineer – Detection & Incident Response

About the role
Netcompany is looking for a senior Cyber Security Engineer to strengthen its security operations across Europe. You will design and implement detection rules, lead incident response activities, and conduct threat‑hunting investigations within a modern DevSecOps environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain detection rules and use cases to identify potential threats (Detection Engineering).
- Conduct purple‑team exercises, simulating real‑world attacks and collaborating with defensive teams.
- Lead L3 incident response, including analysis, containment, eradication and recovery.
- Perform digital forensics investigations to determine root causes and support post‑incident reporting.
- Automate security processes and workflows within a DevSecOps framework.
- Proactively hunt for hidden threats and vulnerabilities across the environment.
- Continuously improve monitoring, detection capabilities and response procedures.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance the overall security posture.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity.
- Fluent in written and spoken English; additional EU language is a plus.
- Proven ability to document, report and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience integrating cybersecurity solutions into organizational infrastructure.
- One of the following GIAC certifications: GCIH, GCFA, GNFA or GREM.
