Customs Trainer

About the role

BDO is seeking a Customs Trainer to join its Tax & Legal team. You will design and deliver engaging customs training for clients and internal staff, translating complex legislation into practical learning experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver customs training sessions on e‑learning platforms and in‑person workshops.
• Interpret EU and Belgian customs legislation, regulations and case law into clear, business‑oriented content.
• Create training materials, presentations, case studies and exercises tailored to diverse audiences.
• Keep training content up‑to‑date with the latest customs developments.
• Collaborate with customs specialists and Tax & Legal colleagues to ensure accuracy.
• Support clients in strengthening internal customs knowledge and compliance.
• Identify new training topics based on market trends and client needs.
• Participate in client meetings to translate challenges into training solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in customs, preferably within a Belgian or European context.
• Strong knowledge of customs legislation and procedures.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
