Controls Technician (Technicien de régulation et automatisme)

About the role

Google is looking for a Controls Technician to ensure 24/7 reliability of its data‑center infrastructure in Belgium. You will manage PLCs, SCADA interfaces, and critical alarm logic that control power and cooling, providing high‑level technical support and leading commissioning of new control equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair PLCs, SCADA systems, servers, network equipment, and access‑control hardware.
• Interpret ladder logic, sequence of operations, and blueprints to troubleshoot control anomalies.
• Lead commissioning, integration, and testing of new automation equipment.
• Provide daily assistance to fellow technicians, conduct system tours, and document findings.
• Work non‑standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support continuous operations.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree, trade‑school certification, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years experience with industrial control systems, PLC programming, and automation.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and handle emergency situations.
• Fluent French communication skills for day‑to‑day operations.

Required skills

• PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• SCADA system management.
• Ladder logic interpretation.
• Reading and using blueprints/schematics.
• Digital metering, calibration and diagnostic equipment.
• Networking fundamentals and basic code troubleshooting.
• CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ (preferred).
• Windows or Linux system administration (preferred).
