Community Engineer (multiple roles & seniority levels)

About the role

We are seeking a Community Engineer to shape and scale global open‑source communities that power widely used Linux‑based technologies. The role is fully remote and will act as a bridge between developers, contributors, and internal engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, coordinate, and scale community programs to increase engagement across open‑source ecosystems.
• Serve as liaison between contributors and product, engineering, and developer‑relations teams.
• Improve contribution workflows, reduce friction, and enable successful delivery of technical projects.
• Create high‑quality written content such as blog posts, updates, and documentation.
• Engage with communities on forums, chat platforms, social channels, and events.
• Represent the organization at conferences, meetups, and industry events.
• Identify and drive improvements to community tooling, processes, and contributor experience.

Required profile

• Strong passion for open‑source software, Linux ecosystems, and collaborative development.
• Demonstrated public track record of community engagement (e.g., GitHub contributions, talks, blog posts).
• Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Strong organizational and program‑management abilities to lead cross‑functional initiatives.
