Communications Specialist

About the role

The British School of Brussels is seeking a Communications Specialist to become the editorial voice of the school. This hands‑on position blends strong writing ability with marketing insight, project management, and visual sensibility to enhance the school’s reputation and support student recruitment.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as guardian of the school’s tone of voice across all channels, ensuring consistency and excellence.
• Create copy for the website, brochures, digital campaigns, advertisements, newsletters, school guides, rankings, award submissions, press releases and other marketing materials.
• Develop executive communications such as the Principal’s addresses, speeches, presentations, key messages and annual financial reporting.
• Produce internal communications, intranet content and staff updates to strengthen engagement.
• Lead planning and continuous improvement of parent communications, supporting colleagues in crafting effective messages for families.
• Apply strong aesthetic judgement to ensure visual appeal of communications and collaborate on templates, visual assets and brand guidelines.
• Use AI tools responsibly to boost productivity while preserving a human, authentic voice.

Required profile

• Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English or a related field.
• Proven experience in editorial and marketing roles, preferably within an educational setting.
• Excellent written English, with the ability to adapt tone for diverse audiences.
• Strong project‑management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
