Class & Learning Support Teacher – German Section (Nursery/Primary)

About the role

The European School Brussels I (EEBI) is seeking qualified Class Teachers and Learning Support Teachers for its German language section, covering Nursery and Primary cycles. These part‑time positions support a multicultural community of over 4,200 pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver curriculum instruction in the German language section for nursery or primary classes.
• Provide general, moderate, or intensive learning support to pupils, both inside and outside the classroom.
• Collaborate closely with class teachers, senior staff, and management to ensure inclusive teaching practices.
• Participate in school meetings, assessments, and continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Diploma authorising work as a Primary and/or Learning Support teacher in the German language section, validated by the Ministry of Education.
• Minimum two years of professional teaching experience.
• Excellent command of German (equivalent to an educated native speaker).
• Good knowledge of at least one other EU institution language (English or French); additional European language is an asset.
• Strong communication skills, flexibility, and willingness to work in a multilingual environment.
• Professionalism, focus on student wellbeing, and ability to cooperate with colleagues.

Required skills

• German language proficiency at native‑speaker level.
• Proficiency in English or French.
• Understanding of the European Schools system.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract (part‑time, 20–25.5 h/week) until 31 Aug 2028, with possible extension.
