Class & Learning Support Teacher – German Section (Brussels)

About the role

The European School Brussels I is recruiting class teachers and learning support teachers for its German language section. The positions are based at the Uccle and Berkendael campuses and involve teaching nursery and primary pupils in a multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver curriculum-aligned lessons in German for nursery and primary cycles.
• Provide general, moderate or intensive learning support to pupils, both inside and outside the classroom.
• Collaborate closely with class teachers, senior staff and the school management team.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of a diverse, multilingual student body.
• Participate in school meetings, assessments and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Diploma authorising work as a primary and/or learning support teacher in the German language section, validated by the Ministry of Education.
• Minimum two years of professional teaching experience.
• Excellent command of German equivalent to an educated native speaker.
• Good knowledge of at least one other EU institution language (English or French); additional European language is an asset.
• Strong communication skills, flexibility and willingness to work in a multicultural setting.
