Class and Learning Support Teachers – German Section (Brussels)

About the role

The European School Brussels I is seeking qualified Class Teachers and Learning Support Teachers for its German language section, covering nursery and primary cycles. Positions are part‑time, locally recruited, and fixed‑term, offering the chance to work in a multicultural, multilingual environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver curriculum-aligned instruction to nursery or primary pupils within the German language section.
• Provide general, moderate, or intensive learning support, both inside and outside the classroom, in close collaboration with class teachers.
• Adapt teaching materials to meet diverse student needs and promote inclusive learning.
• Participate in staff meetings, parent‑teacher conferences, and school events.

Required profile

• Diploma authorising work as a Primary and/or Learning Support teacher in the German language section, validated by the Ministry of Education.
• Minimum of 2 years professional teaching experience.
• Excellent command of German (equivalent to an educated native speaker).
• Good knowledge of at least one other EU institution working language (English or French); additional European languages are a plus.
• Strong communication skills, flexibility, and willingness to work in a multicultural setting.

Required skills

What we offer

• Start date: 1 September 2026.
• Gross salary: €199.08 per weekly teaching hour.
• Contract: Fixed‑term until 31 August 2028 (or 2027) with possible extension.
• Part‑time workload: 20–25.5 hours per week.
