Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Private Equity

About the role

We are seeking a Chief Operating Officer to join a private‑equity holding that owns and supports a portfolio of family‑owned SMEs. The COO will act as the right‑hand to the CEO, translating group strategy into operational excellence across all portfolio companies.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and oversee each business’s model, operations, organization, financial performance and market positioning.
• Define and drive strategic and operational priorities at both company and group level.
• Implement robust KPIs, performance frameworks and monitor results.
• Lead transformation and operational improvement initiatives.
• Partner with CEOs of portfolio companies to ensure execution excellence and accountability.
• Promote a data‑oriented, performance‑driven culture across the organization.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in operational leadership roles such as COO, Head of Operations or General Management.
• Degree in business, management or a related field.
• Strong understanding of SME operations, performance drivers and value creation.
• Strategic mindset combined with hands‑on execution capability.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross‑functional teams.
• Fluent in French, English and Dutch.
