Chief Information Officer

About the role

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will steer NCIA’s digital backbone, ensuring technology, information, and cyber capabilities enable operational excellence and mission success. This senior executive position sits on the Executive Leadership Team and drives the agency’s internal digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a multicultural, multidisciplinary IT team, fostering high professional standards and development.
• Define and implement NCIA’s internal IT strategy, architecture, and digital operating model.
• Oversee information systems, infrastructure, and platforms to guarantee scalability, resilience, and cost‑efficiency.
• Set vision and lead the deployment of Cloud solutions across on‑premises and hybrid environments.
• Ensure high availability and performance of all internal IT services, driving continuous improvement.
• Define and enforce technology standards, policies, and compliance frameworks, including regulatory and audit requirements.
• Lead cybersecurity, risk management, and information protection initiatives, aligning with NATO‑wide policies.

Required profile

• Proven executive leadership experience in large, complex IT environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multicultural, multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of IT strategy, architecture, and digital transformation.
• Experience with Cloud adoption (on‑premises and hybrid) and large‑scale infrastructure management.
• Deep knowledge of cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance within a governmental or defense context.
