Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager drives commercial expansion by combining technical expertise with a strong commercial mindset. The role focuses on entering new markets, acquiring customers, and nurturing strategic relationships to deliver long‑term value.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and convert new business opportunities through consultative, solution‑based selling.
• Provide market intelligence and trends to the marketing team to improve lead generation.
• Manage the full commercial process, from prospecting to contract closure, working both independently and with internal teams.
• Maintain and deepen existing customer relationships (approximately 25% of effort).
• Travel to client sites, trade fairs, and international partners as required.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Industrial or Civil) or a Professional Bachelor’s in Mechanics with relevant experience.
• Proven track record in technical solution sales, preferably in machine building or complex project environments.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; German is a strong asset.
• Business‑focused mindset with 75% effort on new business development and 25% on account management.

• CRM systems (experience using a CRM from start to finish).
