Business Developer – Innovation Funding & Tax Incentives

About the role

We are looking for a Business Developer to join a dynamic sales team in Belgium. The role focuses on driving growth by promoting innovation funding, tax incentives and R&D grant solutions to a wide range of organisations, from SMEs to multinational corporations.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain targeted prospect lists across sectors such as manufacturing, aerospace, IT, agri‑food, healthcare, higher education and research.
• Identify, engage and qualify potential clients, presenting innovation‑related tax credits, grants and funding opportunities.
• Analyse clients' R&D projects to uncover optimisation possibilities and propose tailored solutions.
• Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to negotiation and contract signing.
• Develop long‑term relationships through networking, referrals, email campaigns, LinkedIn and other channels.
• Collaborate with internal experts to deliver value‑added consulting services.
• Stay updated on major innovation, research and development initiatives in Belgium and Europe.
• Contribute to the company’s growth strategy with market intelligence and proactive engagement.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or in progress) in Business Administration, Applied Economics, Business Engineering or a related field.
• Several years of experience in business development, sales, consulting, account management or a client‑facing commercial role.
• Proven ability to identify opportunities, manage stakeholder relationships and achieve commercial targets.

Required skills

• Fluent in Dutch or French, with good command of the other national language and English.
• Strong relationship‑building, networking and negotiation abilities.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, proactive and results‑oriented.
• Analytical and critical‑thinking capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with high reliability and professional integrity.
