Brussels Representative – Institutional Relations

About the role

People in Need (PIN) is seeking a Brussels‑based Representative to join its Institutional Relations Department. The role focuses on building and sustaining relationships with EU donors, international organisations, and other key stakeholders to support PIN’s humanitarian and development programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement engagement plans with relevant DGs (e.g., ECHO, INTPA, ENEST, MENA) in line with PIN’s global strategies.
• Maintain up‑to‑date contacts trackers and gather intelligence on donor priorities.
• Build partnerships with Brussels‑based INGOs, foundations, local authorities and platforms.
• Map and engage Global Gateway implementing partners such as GIZ, AFD, EIB and the private sector.
• Identify entry points for PIN in investment‑linked programmes and position the organisation as a delivery partner.
• Organise events and participate in forums to showcase PIN’s thought leadership.
• Develop relationships with relevant MEPs (especially Czech MEPs) and the Czech Permanent Representation.
• Contribute to shaping PIN’s advocacy positions on EU funding programmes and coordinate high‑level meetings and events.

Required profile

• Based in Brussels with the ability to work onsite.
• In‑depth knowledge of the Brussels donor ecosystem.
• Proven experience building partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders, including EU institutions, INGOs and private sector actors.
• Strong understanding of EU development and humanitarian funding mechanisms.
• Excellent communication and networking skills.
