Bilingual French STEM Expert (Contract, Remote)

About the role

Mercor is seeking a bilingual French STEM expert to create and evaluate high‑quality scientific prompts for AI models. This remote contract position lasts 3–6 months and requires 20+ hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimize STEM‑focused prompts in French and English, ensuring scientific accuracy and clear instructions.
• Define and document evaluation rubrics that uphold scientific rigor and linguistic clarity.
• Conduct model testing, grade outputs for scientific correctness and reasoning quality.
• Support benchmarking and quality‑assurance activities across French‑language benchmarks.
• Collaborate with QA teams to verify that prompts and rubrics meet established standards.

Required profile

• Native‑level written French (Canada, Belgium, Switzerland, or France) and strong written English.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Physics, or Chemistry.
• Familiarity with undergraduate‑level concepts in the chosen STEM field.
• Excellent writing, critical‑thinking, and independent work skills.
• 2+ years of experience in teaching, research, or an applied STEM discipline (preferred).
