Back-End Developer & Software Architect

About the role

As a Back‑End Developer & Software Architect you will join EnergyVille’s Software Implementation Team to design, build and maintain Python‑based tools that support cutting‑edge research in energy systems, from power grids to smart buildings.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary researchers and engineers to develop robust software solutions.
• Define and implement scalable back‑end architectures tailored to energy applications.
• Handle complex integration across diverse applications and scientific models.
• Shape and maintain cloud infrastructure on Azure, manage containerisation with Docker and optimise CI/CD pipelines.
• Translate research algorithms into production‑ready code.
• Provide technical coaching on cloud, data engineering, DevOps, machine learning and cybersecurity.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to align requirements and ensure interoperability.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics or related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong proficiency in Python and object‑oriented programming.
• Proven experience in software architecture and system design.
• Experience with Azure, Docker, CI/CD pipelines and relational/non‑relational databases.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Continuous learning mindset and strong interest in sustainable energy systems.
