Back-End Developer

About the role

Sunrise Group is building a digital sleep clinic that delivers diagnosis and treatment directly to patients at home. As a Back-End Developer you will help scale the platform, ensuring it is robust, secure, and compliant with healthcare regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain reliable backend services using Python, Django, and related technologies.
• Create and evolve RESTful APIs for web, mobile, and third‑party integrations.
• Automate workflows for medical, billing, and sales teams and deliver new patient‑facing features.
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimise for scalability and reliability.
• Contribute to the technical architecture, focusing on maintainability and robustness.
• Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with HIPAA and GDPR.
• Integrate external partner APIs and manage complex data synchronization.

Required profile

• Strong experience developing backend systems with Python and Django.
• Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
• Understanding of healthcare data security and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work collaboratively with product managers, designers, and other engineers in a fully remote setting.
• Problem‑solving mindset and focus on performance optimisation.
