Assistant Production Manager

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Production Manager to support our client, a well‑established international manufacturing player. Working closely with the Production Manager, you will help supervise, coordinate and optimise daily production activities to meet safety, quality, delivery and productivity targets.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Production Manager in planning and executing production schedules aligned with customer demand and capacity.
• Supervise Production Supervisors and Operators, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Monitor production performance through KPIs and implement corrective actions.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other operational‑excellence methodologies.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Maintenance and Quality teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Report directly to the Operations Manager on production status and improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, lean manufacturing and continuous‑improvement methods.
• Focus on safety, quality, efficiency and operational excellence.
• Excellent leadership, communication and people‑management abilities.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a strong asset.
