Algorithm Engineer – Vision Systems

About the role

Join KLA's ICOS Vision Systems division as an Algorithm Engineer, working on the "Vision Engine" that powers advanced inspection tools for semiconductor manufacturing. You will develop cutting‑edge computer‑vision and machine‑learning algorithms to solve real‑world inspection challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop software for advanced inspection solutions, translating customer requirements into high‑quality, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with multiple software teams to validate and integrate new inspection flows, ensuring scalability and reliability on KLA inspection machines.
• Work with senior engineers to evaluate and introduce modern software tools and development practices on Linux and Windows platforms.
• Support field engineers and the Applications team, gaining end‑to‑end understanding of vision system processes.
• Occasionally travel to customer sites to gather real‑world insights and support production deployments.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (or Bachelor’s with 2 years relevant experience).
• Strong foundation in machine vision and software development, with a passion for learning new technologies.
• Analytical mindset and excellent communication skills for effective collaboration in international, multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Object‑oriented programming in C/C++.
• Exposure to Python and deep‑learning concepts.
• Experience with Linux environments and open‑source tools.
• Familiarity with computer‑vision libraries and modern software frameworks.
