Air Import Coordinator

About the role

The Air Import Coordinator will manage the processing of air import shipments for assigned accounts, ensuring all documentation, customs clearance, and delivery timelines are met. This role acts as the primary liaison between customers, carriers, customs authorities, and internal teams to facilitate smooth freight movement.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with customs, port authorities, carriers, and customers to coordinate import shipments.
• Monitor shipping schedules, delivery times, and provide status updates to clients.
• Prepare and review import documentation, ensuring compliance with customs regulations.
• Provide rates, quotes, and billing information to the accounting department.
• Track and trace cargo, resolving any issues that arise during transit.
• Collaborate with internal departments to address customer inquiries and resolve problems.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding shipment dispatch, routing, pricing, and rates.
• Seek the most cost‑effective shipping solutions while meeting client requirements.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of experience in air freight forwarding or a related logistics field.
• Knowledge of customs regulations and import/export requirements.
• Strong communication and customer‑service abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Fluent in English and Dutch, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Understanding of customs clearance processes.
• Familiarity with air import documentation.
