AI Engineer – Applied AI for Digital Commerce

About the role

Join Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Direct to Consumer Data Science team as an AI Engineer. You will design, build, and support production‑grade AI capabilities that power high‑value business solutions across PlayStation’s digital commerce ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Develop applied AI features such as LLM‑powered automation, retrieval‑augmented generation, summarisation, classification and decision‑support workflows.
• Collaborate with operations, product, data, risk and engineering partners to prototype solutions, measure outcomes and transition proven capabilities into production.
• Build and maintain agentic AI workflows that incorporate tool/function calling, structured outputs, workflow state management, internal APIs and human‑review loops.
• Implement reusable platform components, evaluation harnesses and guardrails to ensure reliability and observability of AI services.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering background with backend or platform experience.
• Hands‑on applied AI experience, comfortable working with foundation model APIs.
• Ability to design and ship dependable AI‑driven products in a cloud environment.
• Eagerness to learn and contribute to production‑quality systems.
