Accounting Subject Matter Expert – Remote Contractor

About the role

We are looking for an Accounting Subject Matter Expert to work remotely on an hourly contractor basis. You will evaluate AI‑generated accounting responses, create high‑quality accounting content, and provide detailed feedback to improve model performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI training material, including prompts, gold‑standard journal entries, explanations, close checklists, reconciliation logic and scenario analyses.
• Review and rank AI‑generated accounting outputs for accuracy, clarity, completeness and compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
• Identify and correct errors in bookkeeping logic, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, financial statement presentation and internal controls.
• Fact‑check technical accounting claims and write clear, step‑by‑step model solutions.
• Test AI outputs for misleading guidance, unsafe assumptions, bias and overall reliability across business scenarios.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA/ACCA/CMA is a strong plus.
• 5+ years of professional accounting experience in public accounting, industry, shared services or advisory.
• Deep knowledge of revenue/expense recognition, accruals, prepaid/deferred items, fixed assets, inventory, payroll basics and tax concepts.
• Proven ability to prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations and month‑end close deliverables with auditability.
• Strong understanding of financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and internal‑control concepts.
• Excellent written English (C1 level) and ability to follow detailed guidelines.
• Self‑directed, reliable and able to deliver consistent quality in a remote, hourly workflow.
