Accounting Manager – Brussels

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our Finance organisation in Brussels. The role will own key accounting operations, ensure compliance with Belgian GAAP and IFRS, and lead a sub‑ledger team. You will act as a trusted partner for Finance, Operations and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities across general ledger and sub‑ledger processes.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory, intercompany and bank accounting.
• Ensure accurate reconciliations, strong documentation and consistent accounting practices.
• Coordinate statutory accounting, external audits, VAT and corporate tax compliance.
• Support treasury functions, including cash position monitoring, cash‑flow forecasting and banking operations.
• Serve as the accounting key user for SAP S/4HANA and drive process improvement and automation.
• Coach and develop the sub‑ledger accounting team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Finance and Operations to align accounting processes with business priorities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in accounting within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Strong knowledge of Belgian GAAP, IFRS and local tax regulations.
• Hands‑on leadership style with ability to manage and develop a team.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to balance accuracy, deadlines and business priorities.
