Accounting Manager – Brussels

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our Finance organisation in Brussels. You will own key accounting operations, ensure compliance with Belgian GAAP and IFRS, and act as a trusted partner for Finance, Operations and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities across general ledger and sub‑ledger processes.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory, intercompany and bank accounting.
• Ensure accurate reconciliations, strong documentation and consistent accounting practices.
• Coordinate statutory accounting, external audits, VAT and corporate tax compliance.
• Support treasury activities, including cash position monitoring, cash‑flow forecasting and banking operations.
• Serve as the accounting key user for SAP S/4HANA and drive process improvement, automation and standardisation initiatives.
• Lead, coach and develop the sub‑ledger accounting team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Strong technical expertise in accounting standards (Belgian GAAP, IFRS) and tax regulations.
• Hands‑on leadership style with the ability to balance accuracy, deadlines and business priorities.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
