Accountant (m/f/d) – Part-time, On-site in Wallonia

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Accountant to take operational ownership of the day‑to‑day books for our premium Belgian pet‑food business. The role is on‑site in Wallonia, part‑time (20‑25 hours per week), and works closely with the General Manager, our external fiduciaire and the APV Group Finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full accounting cycle for the CPRO/CERAL entity, from journal entry to month‑end reporting.
• Perform daily bookkeeping: post invoices, manage accounts payable and receivable, reconcile bank accounts and run payments.
• Reconcile payment service providers and ensure clean clearing of related accounts.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register in accordance with Belgian GAAP.
• Prepare the monthly closing file and act as the internal point of contact for the external fiduciaire.
• Coordinate VAT, Intrastat and other statutory filings with the fiduciaire.
• Serve as the primary contact for auditors, tax inspectors and social‑security inspections, gathering documentation and responding to requests.
• Support monthly group reporting to APV Group Finance and handle ad‑hoc accounting tasks in a small, dynamic finance function.

Required profile

• 3+ years of operational accounting experience in an SME or small‑business environment.
• Working knowledge of Belgian accounting practice, VAT and statutory reporting.
• Experience collaborating with an external fiduciaire and comfortable handing off month‑end closing.
• Commercial or accounting qualification (or finance accountant qualification).
• Fluent French (native or bilingual) and business‑level English; Dutch is a strong plus.
• Independent, structured, detail‑oriented and reliable.
